Hopkins - Work Session I. Call To Order With a quorum present, the work session of the San Marcos City Counil was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 3:05 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021. The meeting was held in-person and online. Present: 6 - Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield Baker, Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Alyssa Garza, Council Member Mark Gleason and Council Member Jude Prather Absent: 1 - Council Member Saul Gonzales EXECUTIVE SESSION 1. Executive Session in accordance with the following: A. Sec. §551.071 of the Texas Government Code: Consultation with Attorney: - To receive advice of legal counsel regarding state law preemption of city ordinances regulating the sale or use of single -use packages and containers B. Sec. §551.071 of the Texas Government Code: Consultation with Attorney: - To receive advice of legal counsel regarding tax exemptions for real and personal property at the San Marcos Regional Airport C. Sec. §551.074 of the Texas Government Code: Personnel Matters: to discuss the City Manager Search Process D. Sec. §551.074 of the Texas Government Code: Personnel Matters: to discuss the City Clerk Position E. Sec. §551.087 of the Texas Government Code: Economic Development: to receive a briefing and deliberate on Project Dark Monday A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Scott, seconded by Council Member Baker, to enter into closed session at 3:07 p.m. The motion carried by the following vote: For: 5 - Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Garza and Council Member Gleason Against: 0 City of San Marcos Page 1
