ORDINANCE NO. 2020-60 <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS AMENDING SECTION 2.361 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CITY CODE RELATING- TO THE GENERAL POWERS AND DUTIES <br />OF THE SAN MARCOS ARTS COMMISSION AND <br />RECOMMENDATIONS AND DECISIONS ON FUNDING MADE BY THE <br />SAN MARCOS ARTS COMMISSION; INCLUDING PROCEDURAL <br />PROVISIONS; PROVIDING FOR THE REPEAL OF ANY <br />CONFLICTING PROVISIONS; AND PROVIDING AN ]AFFECTIVE <br />BATE. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />SECTION 1. Section 2.361 of the San Marcos City Code is hereby amended to expand <br />categories of art eligible for funding to track the categories authorized by State law <br />the cato. Added <br />g g <br />text is indicated by underlining and deleted text is indicated by strikethroughs. <br />Sec. 2.361. - General powers and duties; recommendations and decisions on funding and <br />S <br />locations for permanent display art. <br />(a) The arts commission will provide oversight for the expenditure of city hotel occupancy tax <br />funds for thep romotion of the arts, including instrumental and vocal music, dance, drama, <br />folk art creative writing, architecture, design and allied fields, painting, sculpture, <br />graphic and craft arts, motion pictures, radio, television, tape and sound <br />photography, g p ' <br />recording, and other arts related to the presentation, performance, execution, and exhibition <br />of these major art forms. <br />(b) <br />In consultation with the arts community, the arts commission will develop written <br />g regarding <br />guidelines re ardin the process for allocation of hotel occupancy tax funds for the arts.
