Hopkins - Work Session <br />I. Call To Order <br />With a quorum present, the work session meeting of the San Marcos City <br />Council was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, <br />December 15, 2021. This meeting was held in person and online. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Present: 7 - Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Maxfield Baker, Council Member Saul <br />Gonzales, Mayor Pro Tem Shane Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Alyssa Garza, <br />Council Member Mark Gleason and Council Member Jude Prather <br />III. 30 Minute Citizen Comment Period <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, expressed concern with the Human Services Advisory <br />Board (HSAB) funding. She thinks this sets a bad precedence with regards to <br />separation of church and state especially when money is issued to one and not <br />all. She expressed concern that no context was included in the agenda and that <br />a special exception was given for one organization that called a council <br />member a racist. She stated that the HSAB was lobbying for this organization. <br />She also spoke on an outside organization that received $60,000 of funding. <br />She stated that we need to help some of these non-profit organizations <br />maintain their non-profit status. <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br />A motion was made by Council Member Gleason, seconded by Council <br />Member Baker, to enter into Executive Session at 3:05 p.m. The motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member Gonzales, Mayor Pro <br />Tem Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Garza, Council Member Gleason and Council <br />Member Prather <br />Against: 0 <br />City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
