The Foundation is excited to partner with public libraries and fully center them within the
public health ecosystem in this innovative pilot project. We are looking forward to working with you to fulfill
the mission and goals of the Foundation and assist you in your worthy mission.
Please note that grant funding is to be utilized to enable full library participation in ways that are appropriate
to your library's community context and patron characteristics. Funding could be used to purchase mental
health information resources, program supplies, or equipment that demonstrably support enhanced mental
health programming or services; creatively communicating to your service area community about new mental
health programs and services; hosting community or stakeholder meetings and programs; and the expenses
of backfilling your staff time to allow them to fully and consistently participate in the Libraries for Health
learning cohort.
There are opportunities to further discuss the grant agreement and the Libraries for Health project in
the upcoming meetings: 1) A post award meeting to discuss grant expectations and answer your questions
and; 2) A project kick off call to more deeply understand your library's health related activities, building upon
your grant application. As previously communicated with you, these two virtual meetings will include the
Foundation staff and our Library for Health implementation partner who will be designing the mental health
capacity -building activities with you. In addition, we plan to share more details around coordinating the public
announcement on the L4H initiative. Thank you for postponing your own announcements.
This letter and the attached Grant Agreement (the "Agreement") memorializes the terms and conditions of
the Contribution. By executing the attached acknowledgement and accepting periodic payments pursuant to
the Agreement, San Marcos Public Library agrees that the Contribution will be held, administered, and used
in strict accordance with the Agreement and that all of the terms and conditions of the Agreement will be met
orexceeded.
