The virtual workshop asked participants to rate the overall quality of arts and culture in San Marcos <br />as well as: <br /> Estimate how much they pay to participate in each arts and culture activity (on average); <br />Describe success for arts and culture offerings in San Marcos; and <br />List any barriers that exist to participation in arts and cultural activities. <br />Finally, the virtual workshop included the following questions: <br /> Where would you take friends or family visiting San Marcos for a cultural experience? <br /> Where do people gather in San Marcos? <br /> What types of community event gatherings are most important to you? <br />What arts and culture activities would you like to see more of in San Marcos? <br /> Would you like to see more public art in San Marcos? <br />The virtual workshop was available for six weeks, from May 4 to June 14, 2021. Keen Independent received <br />input from 140 participants. <br />Demographics of Workshop Participants <br />Keen Independent examined virtual workshop participants’ demographic characteristics, including age, race, <br />ethnicity, gender and location. <br />Age of participants.More than 80 percent of respondents were in the age range from 35 to 74 years old, <br />with respondents spread relatively evenly between each 10-year age group.
