City Council Meeting Minutes March 1, 2022 <br />the presentation regarding annexing into the City approximately 1.11 acres of <br />land located at 1850 Old Ranch Road 12 Self -Storage. <br />Mayor Hughson opened the Public Hearing at 7:56pm <br />Those who spoke: <br />Tom Holeman, spoke in favor of the project. He stated he is one of three <br />partners on the development and mentioned we have an agreement with the <br />adjacent property owner that processes the sewer onsite. The septic system is <br />obsolete and is overflowing. He mentioned by annexing, it will allow them to <br />tie into the city sewer line. He stated this will force the adjacent property owner <br />to abandon the septic system and shut it down. He noted the zoning with the <br />development agreement is to allow them to demolish the existing building to <br />build a modern self storage facility. <br />Lisa Marie Coppoletta, she would like staff to have included in the packet the <br />comments from planning and zoning commissioners. She stated there is a <br />concern with sewerage leak problems and it will not be fixed by the developer. <br />Expressed concern with developers are from out of town and houses they live <br />in is more than $800K. <br />There being no further speakers, Mayor Hughson closed the Public Hearing at <br />8:02 p.m. <br />A motion was made by Council Member Baker, seconded by Council Member <br />Prather, to postpone Ordinance 2022-20, until Hays County has a plan for <br />businesses not to be interrupted. The motion to postpone failed by the <br />following vote: <br />For: 1 - Council Member Baker <br />Against: 6 - Mayor Hughson, Council Member Gonzales, Mayor Pro Tem Scott, Deputy Mayor <br />Pro Tem Garza, Council Member Prather and Council Member Gleason <br />A motion was made by Mayor Pro Tem Scott, seconded by Council Member <br />Prather, to approve Ordinance 2022-20, on the first of two readings. The <br />motion carried by the following vote: <br />For: 7 - Mayor Hughson, Council Member Baker, Council Member Gonzales, Mayor Pro <br />Tem Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Garza, Council Member Prather and Council <br />Member Gleason <br />Against: 0 <br />18. Receive a staff presentation and hold a public hearing to receive comments for of against <br />Ordinance 2022-21, amending the Official Zoning Map of the City in Case ZC-22-06 by <br />rezoning approximately 1. 11 acres located at 1850 Old Ranch Road 12, from "FD" Future <br />City of San Marcos page 8 <br />
