2022-2025 Meet and Confer Agreement <br />Between the San Marcos Police Officers' Association and the City of San Marcos, Texas <br />ARTICLE 22 <br />AUTHORITY OF AN ARBITRATOR/THIRD PARTY HEARINGS EXAMINER <br />The Association and City hereby agree to meet during year one of this agreement, not later than <br />January 31, 2023, to discuss a potential amendment that addresses the authority of <br />arbitrators/hearings examiners regarding the severity of discipline administered when an officer <br />has violated a rule or engaged in conduct resulting in disciplinary action. <br />The compensation for adding certification pay, at the highest single limit of education and <br />certification pay, will be effective in year two (October 1, 2023) contingent upon good faith <br />negotiations in year one. <br />Refer also to Article 5, Section 4 regarding certification pay. <br />PAGE 41 <br />
