Subpart A - GENERAL ORDINANCES <br />Chapter 14 - BUILDINGS AND BUILDING REGULATIONS <br />ARTICLE 6. - PLUMBING CODE <br />DIVISION 1. GENERALLY <br />DIVISION 1. GENERALLY <br />Sec. 14.101. Applicability. <br />All City plumbing regulations apply throughout the city limits, and also apply to all plumbing work, regardless <br />of location, performed on pipes connected to the City water or wastewater system. <br />( Ord. No. 2015-21, § 1, 7-7-15 ) <br />Sec. 14.102. Amendments. <br />The 2021 International Plumbing Code adopted by section 14.002 is amended as follows: <br />Section 103 is deleted. <br />Section 109 is deleted. <br />Section 603. is amended as follows. <br />Section 606.1 is amended by adding 606.1.1 to read as follows: <br />606.1.1. Water Supply Control. A customer shutoff valve shall be provided on the customer's premises immediately <br />following the water service meter. The shutoff valve shall be located and accessible in a valve box with a readily <br />removable access cover which extends to grade level. When drain valves are provided on the distribution piping or <br />other portion of the water supply system, the drains shall be above grade or otherwise located to prevent the <br />possibility of backflow into the piping system after the system has been drained. <br />Section 703 is amended by adding 703.6 to read as follows: <br />703.7 Minimum building sewer size. Any building sewer pipe which extends five feet from the structure and is <br />connected to the sewer tap, shall be four inches in diameter. <br />( Ord. No. 2015-21, § 1, 7-7-15 ) <br />Sec. 14.103. Permits; licensing. <br />(a) A person applying for a building (plumbing) permit shall be: <br />(1) A licensed master plumber under state law, or <br />(2) Exempt from the state licensing law. <br />(b) A state licensed master plumber shall register with the city once a year and show proof of the license and <br />insurance before any work is performed within the city or on pipes connected to the city's water or <br />wastewater service; or <br />(c) If a building owner is claiming an exemption under state law because he or she is planning to do the work <br />him or herself, them the owner shall provide an affidavit to the building official stating that he or she owns <br />and presently occupies the building as his or her homestead. <br />( Ord.
