The following members of the Greater Sail Marcos Partnership board are eligible to be appointed to the EDSM board: -A city council member, the city manager, and the designated representatives of Hays County and the San Marcos Consolidated Independent School District and the EDSM Board member selected to serve as a representative to the GSMP Board.No more than one other appointee to the EDSM board may be a member of the Greater San Marcos Partnership board. (e) The members of the board other than the ex officio members are appointed by the city council for staggered three-year terms. If a member is appointed to fill a vacancy, they shall serve the remainder of the current term. (4) The board may create ad-hoc subcommittees that also include other community members to assist in the economic development efforts of the city, to work on specific areas of economic development, or on specific economic development projects. (e) The board will have at least four meetings per year, and will meet at least once per quarter, and as needed. Sec. 2.370. General powers and duties. (a) The economic development board will provide advice to the city council on economic development matters and policies.
