ARTICLE 4. —CITY MARSHAL'S DEPARTMENT <br /> Sec. 62.500. - Creation. <br /> (a) The City Marshal's department is created. The manager of the City Marshal's department <br /> is designated as the City Marshal and is appointed by the City Manager. The City Marshal reports <br /> to an Assistant City Manager. The department shall have four divisions; the Patrol division, the <br /> Fire Marshal division, the Parking Enforcement division, and the Municipal Court Bailiff/warrant <br /> division. <br /> (b) The City Marshal's department is not subject to Chapter 143 of the Texas Local <br /> Government Code (civil service requirements or standards.) All department employees are <br /> unclassified employees appointed under and subject to all of the applicable provisions of the city's <br /> personnel policies. <br /> (c) The City Marshal shall ensure that all training and certifications of the members of each <br /> division are maintained as required by law. <br /> (Ord. Patrol division. <br /> (a) The patrol division shall be a division or the marshal's department. <br /> (b) The patrol division is responsible for patrolling within the city limits with a primary focus <br /> on City parks, facilities, and greenspaces.
