RESOLUTION NO. 2023-82R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS EXPRESSING SUPPORT FOR THE TAXIWAY <br /> ALPHA RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT AT THE SAN MARCOS <br /> REGIONAL AIRPORT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY'S <br /> PARTICIPATION IN THE PROJECT WITH THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT <br /> OF TRANSPORTATION'S AVIATION DIVISION BY CONTRIBUTING <br /> TEN PERCENT OF THE CONSTRUCTION COSTS IN THE ESTIMATED <br /> AMOUNT OF $606,020.00; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR <br /> HER DESIGNEE TO APPOINT KIRK ABBOTT, PROJECT ENGINEER <br /> TO EXECUTE ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE <br /> PROJECT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The City of San Marcos intends to make certain improvements to the San Marcos <br /> Regional Airport. <br /> 2. The general description of the project is described as: Taxiway Alpha <br /> Reconstruction Project("Project"). <br /> 3. The City of San Marcos intends to request financial assistance from the Texas <br /> Department of Transportation for these improvements. <br /> 4. Total project costs are estimated to be $6,060,200.00, and the City of San Marcos <br /> will be responsible for 10%of the total project costs estimated to be $606,020.00. <br /> 5. The City of San Marcos names the Texas Department of Transportation as its agent <br /> for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these improvements and <br /> for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of these improvements. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The San Marcos City Council finds the Recitals to be true and correct and <br /> adopts them as findings of the City Council and incorporates them as part of this resolution. <br /> PART 2. The City Council authorizes an expenditure of $606,020.00, which <br /> represents 10%of the entire funding for the Project,toward the funding of the Project. <br /> PART 3. The City of San Marcos hereby authorizes the City Manager or her designee <br /> to appoint Kirk Abbott, Project Engineer, to execute on behalf of the City of San Marcos, at the <br /> appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of this governing body, all contracts and <br /> agreements with the State of Texas, represented by the Texas Department of Transportation, and <br /> such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the <br />
