RESOLUTION NO. 2024-102R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF THE <br /> TASKFORCE GRANT APPLICATION TO THE MOTOR VEHICLE <br /> CRIME PREVENTION AUTHORITY IN THE AMOUNT OF$55,900.00 TO <br /> SUPPORT THE ADDITION OF TEN (10) FLOCK CAMERAS; <br /> AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HER DESIGNEE, TO <br /> EXECUTE ANY AND ALL DOCUMENTS AS NEEDED TO APPLY FOR, <br /> ACCEPT, IMPLEMENT, DECLINE, MODIFY, OR CANCEL THE <br /> GRANT,IF AWARDED; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The submission of the SB 224 Catalytic Converter Grant to the Motor <br /> Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority in the amount of $55,900.00 for the creation of a law <br /> enforcement taskforce to combat Catalytic Converter Theft while adding ten (10) Flock Safety <br /> brand cameras is hereby approved. <br /> Part 2. Under the provisions of the Texas Transportation Code Chapter 1006 and <br /> Texas Administrative Code Title 43;Part 3; Chapter 57, entities are eligible to receive grants from <br /> the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority to provide financial support to law enforcement <br /> agencies for economic motor vehicle theft and fraud-related motor vehicle crime enforcement <br /> teams; and <br /> Part 3. WHEREAS,this grant program will assist this jurisdiction to combat motor <br /> vehicle theft, motor vehicle burglary and fraud-related motor vehicle crime; and <br /> Part 4. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos has agreed that in the event of loss or <br /> misuse of the grant funds, the City of San Marcos assures that the grant funds will be returned in <br /> full to the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority. <br /> PART 2. The City Manager, or her designee, is authorized to execute any and all <br /> documents as needed to apply for, accept, implement, decline, modify, or cancel said grant, if <br /> awarded, on behalf of the City. <br /> NOW THEREFORE,BE IT RESOLVED and ordered that the City Manager is designated <br /> as the Authorized Official to apply for, accept, decline, modify, or cancel the grant application for <br /> the Motor Vehicle Crime Prevention Authority Grant Program and all other necessary documents <br /> to accept said grant; and <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Commander Erik Spriegel is designated as the <br /> Program Director and City Manager Stephanie Reyes is designated as the Financial Officer for <br /> this grant. <br />
