This award is using Pre-Award Authority. <br /> Does this application include suballocation funds? <br /> Recipient organization is suballocated these apportioned funds and can apply for and receive these <br /> funds directly. <br /> Will this Grant be using Lapsing Funds? <br /> No, this Grant does not use Lapsing Funds. <br /> Will indirect costs be applied to this application? <br /> This award does not include an indirect cost rate. <br /> Indirect Rate Details: N/A <br /> Requires E.O. 12372 Review <br /> No,this application does not require E.O. 12372 Review. <br /> Delinquent Federal Debt <br /> No, my organization does not have delinquent federal debt. <br /> Award Description <br /> Purpose <br /> The purpose of acquiring buses is to maintain a state of good repair of the current fleet and enhance the <br /> efficiency and effectiveness of the public transportation system by replacing aging vehicles with modern <br /> buses, optimizing operational capacity,and increasing accessibility and reliability for the community. <br /> These vehicles will be put into public transportation service by a subrecipient,Texas State University. <br /> Activities to be performed: <br /> Texas State University(NTD 60269)will purchase the following: <br /> 1-Six(6)40-ft low-floor clean diesel buses for a total cost of$3,135,621.72 . <br /> 2-Partial funding of one(1)40-ft low-floor clean diesel buses for a total cost of$75,775.78 <br /> Expected outcomes: <br /> Clean diesel technology of the new buses incorporates advanced emissions control systems and comes <br /> with advancements in engine design, emissions control, and fuel efficiency, which is an ongoing <br /> innovation that ensures that modern diesel engines remain a competitive and environmentally <br /> responsible choice. Diesel buses are often more affordable to purchase and the lower initial cost <br /> attractive for San Marcos Transit and TSU <br /> The expected outcomes include an enhanced public transit service to the San Marcos Urbanized Area <br /> and maintain a state of good repair for the fleet that is operating public transportation. The new bus fleet <br /> will align with our sustainability goals and demonstrates a commitment to environmental responsibility. <br /> Newer buses for TSU will be more fuel-efficient and have lower maintenance costs compared to older <br /> models. In the course of time this can result in significant savings for the university in terms of fuel and <br /> upkeep expenses. <br /> Modernization of TSU bus fleet means the college will vehicles that are less prone to breakdowns and <br /> delays, noting that reliability is crucial for maintaining efficient transportation services across the <br /> campus. A modernized bus fleet will reflect positively on the universities and the community image and <br /> will show an assurance to provide quality services and amenities to students and the public,which can <br /> contribute to higher satisfaction levels among the student body,As campuses expand or change over <br /> time, having a flexible and adaptable bus fleet can accommodate evolving transportation needs more <br /> effectively. <br />
