- - _ - - I EVEL <br /> OPMENT PROCEDURES <br /> Section 2.5.4.5Criteria for Approval DIVISION 5: CERTIFICATES OF APPROPRIATENESS <br /> In making a determination or recommendation regarding the Section 2.5.5.1 Purpose,Applicability, Exceptions and Effect <br /> establishment or expansion of a Historic District or Landmark the <br /> following factors should be considered: A. Purpose.The purpose of a certificate of appropriateness is <br /> to assure that construction, alteration, restoration, relocation, <br /> A. Historical, architectural and cultural significance of the site(s); or demolition of a structure, or alterations to the site or <br /> B. Suitability for preservation or restoration; appurtenances in a Historic District or at a Historic Landmark is <br /> congruous with the historical, architectural or cultural aspects <br /> C. Educational value; and of the district or landmark. Furthermore,the purpose of a <br /> certificate of appropriateness is to make certain that historic <br /> D. Satisfaction of criteria established for inclusion of the site(s) structures, streets and neighborhoods are preserved and <br /> and/or district in the National Register of Historic Places. protected. <br /> B.
