RESOLUTION NO. 2024-188R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE SCHEDULE OF FEES FOR THE <br /> FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 2024 AND ENDING <br /> SEPTEMBER 30, 2025; REAUTHORIZING BUILDING PERMIT FEES; <br /> INCLUDING PROCEDURAL PROVISIONS; AND DECLARING AN <br /> EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITIALS: <br /> 1. The attached schedule of fees is effective for the fiscal year beginning October 1, <br /> 2024 through September 30, 2025. <br /> 2. The legislature of the State of Texas enacted House Bill 1922 during the 2023 <br /> legislative session, which took effect on January 1, 2024, This bill requires reauthorization of <br /> building permit fees and defines "building permit fee"to mean a fee charged by a municipality as <br /> a condition to constructing, renovating, or remodeling a structure. <br /> 3. House Bill 1922 requires City Council to hold a public hearing on the <br /> reauthorization of the building permit fees and to reauthorize the fee by vote. The bill requires <br /> building permit fees to be adopted or reauthorized at least once every ten years or be abolished. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS: <br /> PART 1. The fee schedule attached as Exhibit A is hereby approved. <br /> PART 2.
