(1) Mr. Gilley <br />advised the Council the Public Transportation Department has advised <br />the City of some erosion of San Marcos Parkway. Mr. Gilley stated <br />the street will be closed from Peter Garza to IH35 and repairs will <br />be made immediately. (2) Mayor Morris requested Mr. Gilley contact <br />Longhorn to see if they would consider a different name and image <br />for "Waste Woman". <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Attorney's Report. Mr. Taylor had <br />no report at this meeting. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced the City Council's Report. (1) Mayor <br />Morris stated the City Council had attended the Texas Municipal <br />League Conference last week, and Ms. Kissler and Mayor Morris served <br />on the Resolutions Committee. She stated Mr. Doughty was now going <br />off the TML Board and Ms. Kissler and Mrs. Liner were serving on the <br />TML Board and Mr. Guerra as Second Vice President. (2) Mr. <br />Hernandez stated he had also attended a meeting on Friday evening <br />for a new association called the Association of Hispanic Municipal <br />Officials and had provided the invocation. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced an Executive Session pursuant to Article <br />6252-17, Sections 2(e) and (g), V.A.C.S., to discuss pending <br />litigation (Sierra Club vs. Manuel Lujan, Et Al; San Marcos Joint <br />Venture vs. City of San Marcos); matters where the duty of the <br />City Attorney to the City pursuant to the Code of Professinal <br />Responsibility of the State Bar of Texas clearly conflicts with <br />Article 6252-17; the appointment of a public officer; and the <br />evaluation of public employees (City Manager, City Attorney, City <br />Secretary and Municipal Court Judge), respectively. Mr. Hart moved <br />to adjourn into Executive Session and Ms. Kissler seconded the <br />motion, which passed unanimously (9:28 p.m.). <br /> <br />Mr. Guerra moved the Council reconvene at 11:35 p.m. and Ms. Kissler <br />seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval to set the <br />salaries of the City Manager and City Attorney. Mr. Guerra moved to <br />set the salary of the City Manager at $64,274.00 annually effective <br />October 28 and the City Attorney at $50,679.00 annually effective <br />October 28 and Ms. Kissler seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously.
