28. Community home: A place where not more than six physically or mentally impaired or <br />handicapped persons are provided room and board, as well as supervised care and <br />rehabilitation by not more than two persons as licensed by the Texas Department of <br />Mental Health and Mental Retardation (also see Chapter 123 of the Texas Human <br />Resources Code - Community Homes for Disabled Persons Location Act). The limitation <br />on the number of persons with disabilities applies regardless of the legal relationship of <br />those persons to one another. <br />29. Concrete or asphalt batching plant (permanent): A permanent manufacturing facility for <br />the production of concrete or asphalt. <br />30. Concrete or asphalt batching plant (temporary): A temporary manufacturing facility for <br />the production of concrete or asphalt during construction of a project, and to be removed <br />when the project is completed. <br />31. Conference center: A facility used for service organizations, business and professional <br />conferences, and seminars limited to accommodations for conference attendees. <br />32. Continuing care retirement community: A housing development designed to provide a <br />full range of accommodations for adults of age 55 or more, including independent living, <br />assisted living and skilled full-time nursing or medical care. Residents may move from <br />one level to another as their needs change. <br />33. Contractor's office/sales (with outside storage): A building, part of a building, or land area <br />for the construction or storage of materials, equipment, tools, products, and vehicles. <br />34. Convenience store with (or without) gasoline sales: Retail establishment selling food for <br />off-premises consumption and a limited selection of groceries and sundries, including <br />possibly gasoline, if pumps are provided. Does not include or offer any automobile repair <br />services. <br />35. Convention center: A facility designed to accommodate 500 or more persons and used <br />for conventions, conferences, seminars, product displays, sport activities, and <br />entertainment functions. <br />36. CUP means a Conditional Use Permit. <br />37. DT district means a Development Transfer District. <br />38. DTG means a Development Transfer Granting site, in relation to a Development <br />Transfer District. <br />39. DTR means a Development Transfer Receiving site, in relation to a Development <br />Transfer District. <br />40. Efficiency Apartment or Studio Unit: Usually a small apartment consisting of a single <br />room used both as a living room and as a bedroom, together with a kitchen alcove and a <br />bathroom. Some units may use partial partitions or room dividers including pocket doors <br />and rolling dividers, to separate living, kitchen, and dining area from sleeping quarters, <br />sanitary facilities and storage closets. Efficiencies are typically between 200 and 400 <br />square feet in size. <br />40 41. Family home (adult care in place of residence): A facility that regularly provides care in <br />the caretaker's own residence for not more than six adults at any given time.
