School, private (primary or secondary): A school under the sponsorship of a private <br />agency or corporation, other than a religious agency, which offers a curriculum that is <br />generally equivalent to public elementary and/or secondary schools. <br />94-92. School, public or parochial: A school under the sponsorship of a public or religious <br />agency which provides elementary or secondary curricula, but not including private <br />business or commercial trade schools. <br />S? 93. Seasonal uses: Seasonal uses include the sales of items such as Christmas trees, <br />pumpkins, snow cones, fresh produce, and other items that are typically only available at <br />certain times of the year. <br />93 94. Sexually oriented business: See Section 18.241 of the San Marcos City Code. <br />94 95. Special exception means a City-authorized modification of zoning standards applicable <br />to particular types of development within any zoning district in a manner consistent with <br />the overall intent of the zoning ordinance and for which express standards are <br />prescribed. <br />95 96. Stable, commercial: A stable used for the rental of stall space or for the sale or rental of <br />horses, mules or ponies; such a stable shall meet all provision and requirements of the <br />zoning district in which it is constructed. <br />96 97. Stable, private: An area used solely for the owner's private purposes for the keeping of <br />horses, mules or ponies that are not kept for remuneration, hire or sale. <br />W 98. Studio, tattoo or body piercing: A building or portion of a building used for selling or <br />applying tattoos, by injecting dyes/inks into the skin, and/or for piercing the skin with <br />needles, jewelry or other paraphernalia, primarily for the purpose of ornamentation of the <br />human body. <br />9899. Temporary field office or construction yard or office: A structure or shelter used in <br />connection with a development or building project for housing on the site of temporary <br />administrative and supervisory functions and for sheltering employees and equipment. <br />Temporary permits that are valid for a period of one year from a specific time and for a <br />specific location may be issued by the City and shall be subject to review and renewal <br />for reasonable cause. <br />100. Treatment Room: A treatment room is a private or semi-private room in which a medical <br />professional performs a procedure on a patient or patients, including routine <br />examinations such as capturing vital signs. <br />99-. 101. Truck stop: A facility for the parking, refueling or minor repair of heavy load tractor- <br />trailer trucks. These facilities may also include retail sales of food or other items, <br />restaurant(s), restroom/showers facilities, and/or temporary sleeping quarters. <br />408.102. Truck terminal: An area and building where cargo is stored and where trucks, including <br />tractor and trailer units, load and unload cargo on a regular basis. May include facilities <br />for the temporary storage of loads prior to shipment. <br />404.103. Use, nonconforming: See Section 4.5.2.1 of this Land Development Code. <br />4-0-2.104.
