Chain link, woven wire mesh metal panel or similar <br />materials are not considered decorative fencing, and therefore not allowed <br />in front yards. Fences may be constructed of wood, decorative metal, <br />chain link or other materials traditionally used in private fence <br />construction. In an older neighborhood, when it can be documented that <br />the use of chain link in the front yard is an established standard for the <br />particular neighborhood, the responsible official maypprove its use for a <br />new fence Other materials may be qpproved for use by the responsible <br />official if the material is proven to be sturdy, durable, decorative and <br />relatively maintence-free. <br />(2) Height and Location. Any fence or wall located between the property line <br />and the required front yard setback line (or side yard setback line if a if a <br />corner lot) of a building shall not exceed four feet in height. Decorative <br />fences with openings not less than 50% of the fence area and not <br />exceeding four feet in height are permitted in required front and side <br />yards.
