• Historic Preservation Projects issued by the United States Secretary of the Interior. The City Council may, after receiving recommendations from the Historic Preservation Commission and Planning and Zoning Commission, approve revisions to the City of San Marcos Design Guidelines or the City of San Marcos Sign Design Guidelines for the Downtown Historic District by resolution. (k) Acquisition of Historic Easements. The City may acquire, by purchase, donation or condemnation, historic easements in any area within its jurisdiction wherever and to the extent that the City Council, upon the recommendation of the Historic Preservation Commission, determines that the acquisition will be in the public interest.
