• RESOLUTION NO. 2009-169R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING AND RATIFYING AN EMPLOYMENT <br />AGREEMENT THROUGH THE MEET AND CONFER PROCESS WITH <br />THE SAN MARCOS PROFESSIONAL FIRE FIGHTERS ASSOCIATION, <br />DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />I . After consideration of a petition filed by the San Marcos Professional Fire Fighters <br />Association ("SMPFFA") the City Council, by Resolution 2006-28R dated February 7, 2006, granted <br />the petition filed by the SMPFFA and initiated the meet and confer process as set forth in Subchapter <br />B, Section 142.051, et seq. of the Texas Local Government Code. <br />2. The City, through its negotiation team, and the SMPFFA, through its negotiation team, <br />worked through the details of the attached Agreement. The Agreement has been approved by a vote <br />of the majority of the SMPFFA membership. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br />• PART 1. The City Council approves and ratifies the attached Meet and Confer Agreement <br />between the City and the San Marcos Professional Fire Fighters Association. <br />PART 2. The City Manager, Rick Menchaca, is authorized to execute the attached agreement. <br />PART 3.
