ARTICLE 9 <br />PROMOTIONAL ELIGIBILITY <br />Section 1. Prerequisites. <br />Each promotional candidate desiring to take a promotional examination must meet the eligibility <br />requirements under Texas Local Government Code Chapter 143 to take the examination. In <br />order to be eligible to be promoted from an existing promotional eligibility list, the candidate <br />must also meet the following prerequisites on the date of appointment (date position is filled) to <br />the following classification or rank: <br />Engineer = 3 points <br />Captain = 7 points <br />Battalion Chief = 1 I points <br />The above points are attained by earning the listed degrees and/or attending and passing the <br />listed classes and/or achieving the certifications (if any) that pertain to those classes which <br />certificate must be current on the date of appointment (date position is filled). <br />CC)I TR qF P(l1NTq <br />Texas Commission on Fire Protection Courses as follows: <br />Driver Operator 2 <br />Hazmat Tech 2 <br />Fire Instructor I 1 <br />Fire Instructor II 1 <br />Fire Instructor III 1 <br />Fire Officer I 1 <br />Fire Officer II 1 <br />FF Interm. Cert. 1 <br />FF Advance Cert. 1 <br />FF Master Cert.
