RESOLUTION NO.2025-103R <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br /> MARCOS,TEXAS,SUPPORTING THE CITY'S APPLICATION FOR THE <br /> CAPE STREET RECONSTRUCTION AND SHARE USE PATH (SUP) <br /> PROJECT TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION'S <br /> 2025 TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES SET-ASIDE (TA) CALL FOR <br /> PROJECTS;AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> RECITALS: <br /> 1. The Texas Department of Transportation issues a call for projects in January 2025 <br /> for communities to apply for funding assistance through the Transportation Alternatives Set-Aside <br /> (TA)Program. <br /> 2. The TA funds may be used for the development of preliminary engineering(plans, <br /> specifications,estimates, and environmental documentation)and construction of pedestrian and/or <br /> bicycle infrastructure. The TA funds require a local match, comprised of cash or Transportation <br /> Development Credits (TDCs), if eligible. The City of San Marcos would be responsible for all <br /> non-reimbursable costs and 100%of overruns, if any, for TA funds. <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> TEXAS THAT: <br /> PART 1. The City of San Marcos supports funding the Cape Street Reconstruction <br /> and SUP project as described in the 2025 TA Detailed Application (including the preliminary <br /> engineering budget, if any, construction budget, the department's direct state cost for oversight, <br /> and the required local match, is any) and is willing to commit to the project's development, <br /> implementation, construction,maintenance, management, and financing. The City of San Marcos <br /> is willing and able to enter into an agreement with the department by resolution or ordinance, <br /> should the project be selected for funding. <br /> PART2.
