2 Regular Meeting December 10, 1990 Page 2 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING A 20,606.511 SQUARE FOOT TRACT OF LAND, BEING PARTS OF LOTS 12 AND 13, BLOCK 6 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 46, PAGE 448 OF THE HAYS COUNTY DEED RECORDS, LOCATED AT 112 C. M. ALLEN PARKWAY, FROM "I" (INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the zoning amendment. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Hart moved for adoption of the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF THE CITY FROM COMMERCIAL TO HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR 7.881 ACRES OF LAND KNOWN AS THE SHALAMAR APARTMENTS, SAN MARCOS, HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 1612 AQUARENA SPRINGS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to speak for or against the land use amendment. No one did, so Mayor Morris closed the public hearing. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1990-1991 FISCAL YEAR TO PROVIDE INCREASED FUNDING FOR LANDFILL MONITORING SERVICES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hart seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE OF A NINE FOOT PORTION OF LOT 17, A. F. WEATHERFORD SUBDIVISION NO.2 LOCATED IN THE 500 BLOCK OF GEORGIA STREET, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, TO MANUELA REYES, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING THE PROPERTY AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mayor Morris moved to amend the Ordinance for adoption on emergency and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, NOMINATING CANDIDATE(S) AND SEEKING THE RECOMMENDATION BY THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE FOR APPOINTMENT TO NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES COMMITTEES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and to amend the Resolution in Part 1 to add the following: appointment of Kathy M. Morris to the Finance Administration Intergovernmental Relations Steering Committee, appointment of Betty Kissler to the Human Development Steering Committee and reappointment of Rick Hernandez to the Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Steering Committee and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
