<br />2 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />Regular Meeting December 10, 1990 Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP OF THE CITY BY ZONING A <br />20,606.511 SQUARE FOOT TRACT OF LAND, BEING PARTS OF LOTS 12 <br />AND 13, BLOCK 6 OF THE ORIGINAL TOWN OF SAN MARCOS, HAYS <br />COUNTY, TEXAS, AS RECORDED IN VOLUME 46, PAGE 448 OF THE HAYS <br />COUNTY DEED RECORDS, LOCATED AT 112 C. M. ALLEN PARKWAY, FROM <br />"I" (INDUSTRIAL DISTRICT) TO "C" (COMMERCIAL DISTRICT) AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the zoning amendment. No one did, so Mayor <br />Morris closed the public hearing. Mr. Hart moved for adoption of <br />the Zoning Ordinance and Mr. Hernandez seconded the motion, which <br />passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration a public hearing and <br />adoption of a Resolution, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE FUTURE LAND USE MAP OF THE MASTER PLAN OF <br />THE CITY FROM COMMERCIAL TO HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR 7.881 <br />ACRES OF LAND KNOWN AS THE SHALAMAR APARTMENTS, SAN MARCOS, <br />HAYS COUNTY, TEXAS, LOCATED AT 1612 AQUARENA SPRINGS AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris opened the public hearing and asked if anyone wished to <br />speak for or against the land use amendment. No one did, so Mayor <br />Morris closed the public hearing. Ms. Kissler moved for adoption of <br />the Resolution and Mr. Moore seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of an Ordinance <br />on emergency, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, AMENDING THE CITY BUDGET ORDINANCE FOR THE 1990-1991 <br />FISCAL YEAR TO PROVIDE INCREASED FUNDING FOR LANDFILL <br />MONITORING SERVICES AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and Mr. Hart seconded <br />the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration approval of an Ordinance <br />on first reading, the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, APPROVING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE SALE OF A NINE <br />FOOT PORTION OF LOT 17, A. F. WEATHERFORD SUBDIVISION NO.2 <br />LOCATED IN THE 500 BLOCK OF GEORGIA STREET, SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, <br />TO MANUELA REYES, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A <br />SPECIAL WARRANTY DEED CONVEYING THE PROPERTY AND DECLARING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris moved to amend the Ordinance for adoption on emergency <br />and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Morris introduced for consideration adoption of a Resolution, <br />the caption which was read as follows: <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, NOMINATING CANDIDATE(S) AND SEEKING THE RECOMMENDATION <br />BY THE TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE FOR APPOINTMENT TO NATIONAL <br />LEAGUE OF CITIES COMMITTEES, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Mr. Moore moved for adoption of the Resolution and to amend the <br />Resolution in Part 1 to add the following: appointment of Kathy M. <br />Morris to the Finance Administration Intergovernmental Relations <br />Steering Committee, appointment of Betty Kissler to the Human <br />Development Steering Committee and reappointment of Rick Hernandez <br />to the Energy, Environmental and Natural Resources Steering <br />Committee and Mr. Guerra seconded the motion, which passed <br />unanimously. <br />
