The questions should be answered <br />before the September 4th Sunset Commission meeting. <br />Convention and Visitors Bureau Rebecca Conley & Arturo Benavides <br />Main Street Advisory Board Ani Yazedijan Hensleigh & Mike Occhialini <br />Arts Commission Ani Yazedijan Hensleigh & Arturo Benavides <br />Minority Tourism Development Board Hilda A. Cook & Mike Occhialini <br />Here is the list of HOT recipients along with <br />the people who signed up <br />to visit with each <br />group. Once you have finished interviewing the Chairs and filling out <br />the questionnaires, <br />please email your completed forms to me so we <br />can reproduce for the September <br />4th meeting. <br />Please let me know if you need additional information. <br />• <br />1. Does your commission /board receive City <br />of San Marcos Hotel Occupancy Tax (HOT) funds? <br />What was the total amount awarded in HOT funds <br />to your group in 2007, <br />2008 and 2009? Does <br />your organization have a surplus in HOT funds <br />at the end of the fiscal <br />year? If so, what is <br />done with the surplus? <br />2. Who /what office in your organization is responsible for reporting your expenditure of <br />HOT funds to the city? Who /what office develops the report that is ultimately presented to <br />the City of San Marcos, City Manager Office? Please include a copy of the last 2 reports <br />submitted. <br />3. What other boards /commissions /businesses receive City of San Marcos HOT funds? Does <br />your commission /board communicate with the other groups (explain, be descriptive, give your <br />opinion)? <br />4. Does your board /commission currently follow a set standard and procedure for <br />distributing money received from the City of San Marcos HOT fund? ... Money received from <br />other City of San Marcos funds? Once your commission /board awards monies to a requesting <br />organization /event /etc, is there follow -up with the organization to determine effectiveness • <br />of the awarded funds? Please send a copy of the standard operating procedures and protocol <br />followed. A recent example and include any calculations you use to determine your findings. <br />I <br />
