the Small Business Administration's (SBA) definition. The Partnership will also <br />ensure microbusiness, defined as those with less than ten employees, are included <br />in its program offerings. <br />1. Objective: To diversify and grow the regional economy by <br />working with SMEs and microbusinesses in primary industry sectors by <br />evaluating their needs and assisting them to find appropriate resources in vital <br />areas such as entrepreneurship, business planning, and other resources to <br />help companies grow and expand locally. <br />2. Deliverables: <br />a. Support the City's erforts of a minimum of four (4) educational <br />events per fiscal year that focus on the needs of small <br />business, microbusinesses, wog and' minority owned <br />businesses, or entrepreneurs in partnership with the City or <br />local community organizations in the City and provide a <br />written semi-annual report to the City Manager on feedback <br />received. <br />b. Create and maintain a "one -stop shop" online database with <br />resources specifically curated to assist small businesses, <br />including SNIEs and rnicrobusiriesses, and refer any inquiries <br />by City of San Marcos businesses to, the Economic and <br />l3usiness Development Manager for assistance as needed. <br />d. Promote small business counseling programs that are offered by the <br />City of <br />San Marcos or other community organizations in San Marcos. <br />e. Encourage the Texas State Small Business Development <br />Center (SBDC) office (a federally directed program) to enhance <br />its geographic presence in San Marcos by hosting office hours <br />locally in a publicly accessible space such as the San Marcos <br />Public Library or the offices of the Partnership. <br />E Support any efforts by the City to advocate for federal resources <br />to be allocated to locate a permanent SBDC office in San Marcos. <br />9- <br />h. Continue to strengthen relationships with local cultural <br />organizations including development of Spanish language <br />translations of materials for programs and resources for <br />workforce development efforts. A translation plugin for digital <br />content will also be explored and implemented if viable. <br />E. Business Attraction (Contacts and Leads). The Partnership agrees to <br />function as the City's initial contact for prospective employers and businesses in <br />primary industry sectors in matters related to economic development and will work <br />EDSM Approved on Aug. 22, 2025: One -Year Extension (Clean Version) Page 2 of 25 <br />
