1090 <br />RESOLUTION 2003 - 152 R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS, IN SUPPORT OF THE CONTINUATION OF THE GRANT <br />PROCESS WITH THE UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS <br />FOR THE SAN MARCOS RIVER AQUATIC ECOSYSTEM RESTORATION <br />PROJECT; APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OFA LETTER OF INTENTTO <br />THE UNITED STATES ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS; AUTHORIZING <br />THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE LETTER OF INTENT AND ALL <br />OTHER RELATED DOCUMENTS AS REQUIRED BY THE UNITED <br />STATES CORPS OF ENGINEERS AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />1. The City of San Marcos has begun a grant process with the United States <br />Army Corps of Engineers for a San Marcos River Aquatic Ecosystem Restoration Project <br />(the "Project ") under Section 206 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1996. <br />2. The Corps of Engineers is committed to granting the City $2,378,214.00 for <br />the completion of the Project. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The City Council confirms its support of the continuation of the grant <br />process with the United States Army Corps of Engineers forthe Project under Section 206 <br />of the Water Resources Development Act of 1996. <br />PART 2. The City's commitment of approximately $1,300,000.00 in local in -kind <br />match, as described in the attached Preliminary Restoration Plan for the Project, is <br />approved. <br />PART 3. The submission of a Letter of Intent to the United States Army Corps <br />of Engineers regarding this Project is approved. <br />PART 4. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute, on behalf <br />of the City, the Letter of Intent and all related documents as required by the United States <br />Army Corps of Engineers. <br />PART 5. This Resolution shall be in full force and effect immediately from and <br />after its passage. <br />ADOPTED this the 8th day of September , 2003. <br />
