RESOLUTION NO.2026-22R <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS SUPPORTING THE APPLICATION BY HAYS <br />COUNTY FOR FUNDING ASSISTANCE TO THE CAPITAL AREA <br />METROPOLITAN PLANNING ORGANIZATION FOR THE <br />CENTERPOINT ROAD PROJECT FROM I-35 TO FM 2439 HUNTER <br />ROAD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR HER DESIGNEE, TO <br />SUPPORT THE APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br />RECITALS: <br />WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos hereby supports the submittal of the Centerpoint <br />Road project and supporting information to the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization <br />(CAMPO) 2028-2031 Call for Projects; and <br />WHEREAS, CAMPO issued a call for projects in October 2025 for communities to apply <br />for funding assistance through the Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG), Transportation <br />Alternative Set -Aside (TASA), and Carbon Reduction Program (CRP); and <br />WHEREAS, funding from the Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) would afford <br />the construction of a four -lane divided roadway and two shared -use paths (SUP), including a <br />grade -separated Union Pacific Railroad (UPRR) crossing. It will include curb and gutter with <br />uniform shoulders and a storm drain system. <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br />PART 1. The San Marcos City Council demonstrates strong support for Hays County to <br />advance the Centerpoint Road project. <br />PART 2. The San Marcos City Council support Hays County's submittal of an application <br />to the current CAMPO 2028-2031 Call for Projects. <br />PART 3. The City Manager, or her designee, is authorized to support the application on <br />behalf of the city. <br />PART 4. This resolution will be in full force and effect immediately from and after its <br />passage. <br />ADOPTED on February 3`d, 2026. <br />
