The Mayor presented a proposed advertisement to
be published in the San Antonio Express-News and the Lexington-Herald. The full-page color advertisement
would cost approximately $30,000 and was to be paid from unspent printing/publications appropriations within the
Electric Utility Fund. However, City Council desired additional edits be made to the advertisement resulting in it
being printed after October 1st and the expense being charged to fiscal year 2004 expenses. Realizing that the
unspent $30,000 would go directly to fund balance, City Council has requested that this unspent money plus an
additional $50,000 be appropriated from fund balance to be used for promotions that draw the attention of Toyota
suppliers.
