Call To Order <br /> With a quorum present, the regular meeting of the San Marcos City Council <br /> was called to order by Mayor Hughson at 6:05 p.m. Tuesday,May 19,2026. <br /> This meeting was held both in-person and online. <br /> II. Roll Call <br /> Present: 7- Mayor Pro Tern Shane Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Alyssa Garza, Council <br /> Member Amanda Rodriguez, Mayor Jane Hughson, Council Member Lorenzo <br /> Gonzalez, Council Member Matthew Mendoza and Council Member Josh Paselk <br /> 111. Invocation <br /> The invocation was delivered by Pastor Ric Robertson, New Zion church, San <br /> Marcos. <br /> IV. Pledges of Allegiance - United States and Texas <br /> V. Citizen Comment Period <br /> Angelita Robbins addressed the Council on behalf of Mission Able, a <br /> nonprofit organization, expressing gratitude for the assistance the organization <br /> provided in repairing a leaking roof at her home. <br /> Refugia Lucio spoke in support of Mission Able, explaining that the group <br /> repaired severe damage to her 60-year-old home caused by a major roof leak. <br /> She praised staff, including Mr. Evans, and urged the city to continue funding <br /> the organization. <br /> Rodrigo Amaya, raised concerns about SMPD's handling of the Gerardo <br /> Reyes arrest, citing poor oversight and unauthorized training. He questioned <br /> the adequacy of a 24-hour suspension and called for stronger accountability. <br /> Amy Camp called for full transparency on the March 14 arrests, requesting <br /> City of San Marcos Page 1 <br />
