MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Jones and a second by <br />Councilmember Couch, the City Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed, to <br />approve the Consent Agenda. The motion carried unanimously. <br />END OF CONSENT AGENDA <br />19. Consider appointment to fill vacancy on Zoning Board of Adjustments and <br />Appeals. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Bose and a second by <br />Councilmember Couch, the City Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed, to <br />move Saul Gonzales from alternate to a voting member. The motion carried <br />unanimously. <br />Floyd Holder was appointed to the Zoning Board of Adjustments and Appeals. <br />20. Discussion on the abandonment and sale of Zunker Street right-of--way, and <br />provide direction to staff. <br />Staff was directed to proceed with the abandonment of the Zunker Street right-of--way. <br />21. Question and answer session with press and public. <br />Kelly Merks, 121 Nance, wanted to know about the vote on item 16. Mayor Narvaiz <br />explained this had been voted in the affirmative during the consent agenda. <br />Carline Schwartz, with the University Star, asked Councilmember Bose when the <br />construction on the railroad track from Laredo would begin. He responded there is no <br />definite date. Ms. Schwartz asked how he anticipated this would affect San Marcos. <br />Councilmember Bose replied that he envisions a great ridership, TSU expanding and a lot <br />of dreams coming true. <br />22. Adjournment. <br />MOTION: Upon a motion made by Councilmember Guerrero and a second by <br />Councilmember Jones, the City Council voted five (5) for and none (0) opposed, to <br />adjourn the regular session of the San Marcos City Council at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday, June <br />17, 2008.
