<br />88 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1987- 3~R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF 'rHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOIN'rING PRESIDING <br />JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN 'l'HE <br />SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE <br />HELD ON APRIL 25, 1987 AND CHARGING EACH SUCH <br />JUDGE WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD SAID ELECTION IN <br />HIS/HER RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH <br />RESPECTIVE PRECINCT, APPOINTING A PRESIDING <br />JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING <br />STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION <br />MANAGER, APPROVING THE~PPOINTMENT BY SAID <br />TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS, <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, on A.pril 9, 1987, the City Council of the City of <br />San Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a <br />special runoff election by said City on April 25, 1987, <br />establishing the rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, <br />and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered <br />during said election, making provisions for the conduct of the <br />election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, <br />and declaring an emergency; and, <br /> <br />HHEREAS, Section 4 of said ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of said City, on or before April 16, 1987, shall, by <br />resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to <br />serve in said election at the polling places for the respective <br />precincts set forth in Section 3 thereof, and said ordinance <br />further ordains that it shall be each such judge I s duty to hold <br />the election in said precincts and that any vacancies occurring <br />after the appointment of said judges may be filled by subsequent <br />resolution(s) of said City Council; and, . <br /> <br />HHEREAS, Section 10 of said ordinance provides that the City <br />Council of said City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint a <br />Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation <br />Supervisor of said Central Counting Station, and a Central <br />Counting Station Manager; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1.
