88 RESOLUTION 1987- 3~R A RESOLUTION OF 'rHE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, APPOIN'rING PRESIDING JUDGES AND ALTERNATE JUDGES TO SERVE IN 'l'HE SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION OF SAID CITY TO BE HELD ON APRIL 25, 1987 AND CHARGING EACH SUCH JUDGE WITH THE DUTY TO HOLD SAID ELECTION IN HIS/HER RESPECTIVE POLLING PLACE FOR EACH RESPECTIVE PRECINCT, APPOINTING A PRESIDING JUDGE OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, A TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF THE CENTRAL COUNTING STATION, AND A CENTRAL COUNTING STATION MANAGER, APPROVING THE~PPOINTMENT BY SAID TABULATION SUPERVISOR OF CERTAIN ASSISTANTS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, on A.pril 9, 1987, the City Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, adopted an ordinance ordering the holding of a special runoff election by said City on April 25, 1987, establishing the rate of compensation to be paid judges, clerks, and assistants to the tabulation supervisor for services rendered during said election, making provisions for the conduct of the election and other provisions incident to the purposes thereof, and declaring an emergency; and, HHEREAS, Section 4 of said ordinance provides that the City Council of said City, on or before April 16, 1987, shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint presiding and alternate judges to serve in said election at the polling places for the respective precincts set forth in Section 3 thereof, and said ordinance further ordains that it shall be each such judge I s duty to hold the election in said precincts and that any vacancies occurring after the appointment of said judges may be filled by subsequent resolution(s) of said City Council; and, . HHEREAS, Section 10 of said ordinance provides that the City Council of said City shall, by resolution duly adopted, appoint a Presiding Judge of the Central Counting Station, a Tabulation Supervisor of said Central Counting Station, and a Central Counting Station Manager; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1.
