65. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2003 - 200 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR <br />A FY 2003/2004 FEDERAL NON-PRIMARY ENTITLEMENT GRANT; <br />APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS <br />AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S <br />BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS APPLICATION <br />AND ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH TXDOT AND OTHER <br />PARTIES AS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE <br />IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br /> 1. The City of San Marcos (the "City") intends to make certain.improvements <br />to the San Marcos Municipal Airport, the general description of which is to renovate <br />Runway 4-22 with Taxiway J into an improved and lighted taxiway. <br /> <br /> 3. The City is currently eligible for federal non-primary entitlement of up to <br />$150,000.00 annually for FY 2003 and for FY 2004, with the total project cost estimated <br />to be $298,329.00. <br /> <br /> 4. The City has available and will provide at least 10% of the project costs with <br />local funds and understands that the above mentioned entitlement funds cannot be <br />increased. <br /> <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br /> PART 1. The City hereby requests federal non-primary entitlement funds from <br />TXDoT for improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br /> PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately $29,833.00 in local matching <br />funds is approved. <br /> <br /> PART 3. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute on behalf <br />of the City, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of the City <br />Council all contracts and agreements with TXDoT, and such other parties as shall be <br />necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the improvements to the San Marcos <br />Municipal Airport. <br /> <br /> PART 4. The City Council names the Texas Department of Transportation as <br />its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these <br />improvements and for the administration of contracts necessary for the implementation of <br />these improvements. <br /> <br /> <br />
