<br />148 <br /> <br /> <br />rr) <br />-'" <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1987~8 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING THAT <br />ORDINANCE PASSED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY <br />COUNCIL ON JULY 7, 1987, WHICH ORDERED A <br />JOINT SPECIAL ELECTION BY SAID CITY AND <br />COUNTY OF HAYS, TEXAS, TO BE HELD ON <br />AUGUST 8, 1987 FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />CONSIDERING THE ADOPTION OF AN ADDITIONAL <br />ONE-HALF OF ONE PERCENT (1/2%) LOCAL <br />SALES AND USE TAX WITHIN THE CITY, TO <br />PROVIDE FOR CHANGES IN POLLING PLACES, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That that Ordinance adopted by the City <br />Council of the City of San Marcos, Texas, on July 7, 1987, <br />ordering a joint special election by the City and the County <br />of Hays, Texas, to be held on August 8, 1987, for the purpose <br />of considering the adoption an additional one-half of one <br />percent (1/2%) local sales and use tax within the City to be <br />amended by changing Section 3 of said Ordinance as follows: <br /> <br />a. <br /> <br />Change the polling place location of Precinct <br />13 from County Extension, 401-B Broadway to <br />San Marcos High School Auditorium, l301 State <br />Highway l23. <br /> <br />b. <br /> <br />Combine Precinct 2l with Precinct 20, the <br />polling place for which is C.M. Allen Homes <br />Office, Off River Road. <br /> <br />c. <br /> <br />Delete the provision that Precinct 21 polling <br />place shall be Quail Creek Country Club, <br />Highway 21 <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That the importance of this Ordinance <br />creates an emergency and an imperative public necessity so <br />that the provisions of the Charter requiring that ordinances <br />shall be presented at three separate meetings and that no <br />ordinance shall become effective until the expiration of ten <br />(10) days following the date of its final passage be <br />suspended, and these provisions are hereby suspended, and <br />this Ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and <br />effect from and after its adoption and after its publication <br />in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required <br />by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas. <br /> <br />PASSED, <br />1987. <br /> <br />APPROr:~ :PTED this <br />~ger <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />13 <br /> <br />day of July, <br /> <br />~st_: ., .I /ñ:M ) <br />¡/ bÛn~ }y ~~/ <br /> <br />.fanis K.
