<br /> <br /> <br /> <br />151 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1987-101 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING APPENDIX G, HISTORICAL ZONING <br />ORDINANCE OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF ORDINANCES BY <br />ESTABLISHING A MEETING DAY FOR THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION <br />COMMISSION, PROVIDING FOR APPLICATION DEADLINES, <br />CLARIFYING NEED FOR A CERTIFICATE OF <br />APPROPRIATENESS, AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />SAN <br /> <br />r.1ARCOS, <br /> <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 6 of Appendix G of the San Marcos Code <br />of Ordinances is repealed and the following adopted in its place. <br /> <br />Section 6. <br /> <br />Same--Meetings. <br /> <br />The Commission shall elect from its membership a chair who <br />shall serve for a term of one year and who shall be eligible <br />for re-election. The chair shall preside over the Commission <br />and shall have the right to vote. The Commission shall hold a <br />regular meeting on the first Thursday of each month. <br />Deadlines for filing Applications for Certificates of <br />Appropriateness shall be determined by the Commission. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That Section 10(a) of Appendix G of the San Marcos <br />Code of Ordinances is repealed and the following adopted in its place: <br /> <br />Section 10. <br /> <br />Building or altering <br /> <br />in a <br /> <br />district; <br /> <br />certificate. <br /> <br />a. After the designation of an historic district, there shall <br />be no changes or alterations made to that portion of a <br />structure's exterior which is normally visible to traffic <br />passing in the street on which the structure fronts (or sides, <br />in the case of a corner lot) until after a Certificate of <br />Appropriateness has been approved by the Commission. Structure <br />shall include accessory buildings, roofs, walls, fences, light <br />fixtures, steps, pavement, gates, outdoor advertising signs and <br />other appurtenant features. <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
