1.2 PHASE 1 - PRELIMINARY DESIGN <br /> <br />The Engineer will: <br /> <br />1.2.1 Assemble a Project team comprised of the City's representatives and the Engineer's <br />representatives. The Engineer will meet with the Project team to set the design and production <br />schedule and parameters for all subsequent work, to verify the components within which all Project <br />participants must perform, and to identify all parties and significant deadlines involved in the <br />comprehensive schedule strategy. Based on this information, the Engineer will prepare a detailed <br />schedule of its work for the Project addressing each component of the work to be done, indicating <br />the points of involvement of all project participants. The Engineer will conduct weekly progress <br />meetings between the Project team and the Contractor once the construction contract is executed. <br /> <br />1.2.2 Consult with the City to establish the extent and character of the Project to be observed in <br />all buildings and support structures. <br /> <br />1.2.3 Attend meetings as may be required to coordinate with City staff, interested citizens and <br />civic groups regarding the elements of the work involved in the Project. <br /> <br />1.2.4 Identify the agencies and permitting authorities that will have jurisdiction over the Project <br />and assist the City in connection with the City's responsibility for filing documents required by these <br />entities. <br /> <br />1.2.5 Prepare an opinion of probable cost for review by the City. <br /> <br />1.2.6 Prepare preliminary design drawings for review and approval by the City. <br /> <br />1.3 PHASE 2 - FINAL DESIGN <br /> <br />The Engineer will: <br /> <br />1.3.1 Prepare final design drawings and technical specifications based on City approved <br />preliminary design drawings. The final drawings will define the character and scope of the work. <br /> <br />1.3.2 Advise the City of any adjustments necessary in the Engineer's opinion of probable cost <br />based on the final design drawings and specifications. <br /> <br />1.3.3 Meet with the City's Project Manager periodically or as needed to update the City on the <br />progress of work. <br /> <br />1.3.4 Head the Project team and coordinate the integration of design, utility engineering, ADA <br />compliance, permitting, and other services as previously approved. <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
