<br /> <br />r\! <br />-1 <br />;;;! <br />..I <br /> <br /> <br />233 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1987-122 <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE <br />CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING <br />CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE VII. COMMISSION FOR <br />WOMEN, SECTION 2-125 OF THE SAN MARCOS <br />CODE OF ORDINANCES BY REDUCING THE <br />MEMBERSHIP OF SAID COMMISSION FOR WOMEN <br />FROM FIFTEEN (15) TO NINE (9); <br />ESTABLISHING TERMS OF SERVICE FOR SAID <br />MEMBERS; SPECIFYING THE NUMBER OF <br />NONRESIDENT MEMBERS OF SAID COMMISSION; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE Crry COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Section 2-125 of Chapter 2, Article <br />VIII., Commission for Women, of the San Marcos Code of <br />Ordinances be amended to reads as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 2-125. Composition; appointment of members. <br /> <br />There is hereby established the Commission for <br />Women. Such board shall be composed of nine (9) <br />members appointed by the City Council, who are <br />willing to pursue a positive course of action for <br />achieving equal rights and responsibilities for all <br />women and through their activities have <br />demonstrated their commitment 1"-0 this goal. Said <br />members shall be appointed to two-year staggered <br />terms wi th the terms of five (5) of such board <br />members expiring June 30 of odd-numbered years and <br />the terms of four (4) of such board members <br />expiring June 30 of even-numbered years. As used <br />herein, "citizens of the City of San Marcos" shall <br />mean any persons who live within the city limits of <br />the City of San Marcos; however two (2) members may <br />be nonresidents of the City of San Marcos. <br /> <br />SECTION 2.
