c) Erosion control standards.
1.3.11 Prepare a Construction Sequence and Traffic Control Plan ("TCP") to include:
a) The design of a conceptual traffic control plan based on Texas Manual on Uniform
Traffic Control Devices ("TxMUTCD") and the City guidelines. The Engineer will
provide one (1) conceptual traffic control design for review and approval by the City.
In addition, the Engineer will consider and implement input from TxState and other
affected parties as possible; and
b) Preliminary traffic control plan sheets based on approved conceptual design. The
Engineer will note modifications of conceptual design due to design considerations
will be noted in memorandum to the City for approval.
1.3.12 Prepare final TCP plan sheets based on the approved preliminary design to include:
a) Narrative of traffic control plan detailing phasing of construction;
b) TCP layouts, which will include lane closure locations, taper lengths, signing,
striping, typical sections and any other required information;
c) Detour layout for Peques realignment;
d) Traffic control summary of quantities; and
e) Traffic control standards.
1.3.13 Provide general notes and technical specifications based on TxDOT and City standard
specifications, special specifications, and special provisions and prepare new special provisions
or special specifications, as required.
1.3.14 Compute estimated quantities for all bid items and estimated cost of construction using
current average low bid unit prices from at least two sources.
1.3.15 Determine the number of calendar days allowed for the construction contract and prepare
a schedule identifying major work items, critical path items, production rates and estimated
construction time. Rates will be based on standard TxDOT rates of construction and approved
by the City. The Engineer will coordinate the schedule with the City and TxState to account for
traffic demands for the university and local residents.
1.3.16 Be responsible for the following miscellaneous items:
a) Upon City approval, modify City and TxDOT standards for Project application as
needed;
b) Provide final CD of all plan files and file name documentation as record of design
sent to construction; and
c) Submit 30%, 60%, and 100% plan sets and required documentation for each submittal
based on TxDOT's PS&E Manual guidelines located on TxDOT's website.
KBR-Sessom Drive Roadway Improvements Agreement
