20 ORDINANCE 1987-127 AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 13 1/2 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY BY REPEALING OBSOLETE SECTIONS 13 1/2-3, 13 1/2-4,13 1/2-5,13 1/2-6 OF SAID CODE AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. EREAS, the 1985 Standard Mechanical Code, was 27,1987, by the City of San Marcos; and, adopted February WHEREAS, Section 13 1/2-3 is not applicable because it refers to the obsolete 1976 Uniform Mechanical Code, and; WHEREAS, Sections 13 1/2-4, 13 1/2-5 and 13 1/2-6 of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances contain obsolete provisions of the Heating and Air Conditioning Chapter of the Code of Ordinances which have been superceded by the 1985 Standard Mechanical Code; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY TEXAS: COUNCI L OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, SECTION 1. That Sections 13 1/2-3, 13 1/2-4, 13 1/2-5 and 13 1/2-6 of Chapter 13 1/2, Heating and Air Conditioning of the Code of Ordinances, City of San Marcos, Texas, are hereby repealed, and the following new Section 13 1/2-3 is adopted: Sec. 13 1/2-3. No license shall be issued until such person has first given good and sufficient bond in the sum of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00) to guarantee such person's full compliance with the ordinances of the City of San Marcos, Texas, regulating the installation and repair of air conditioning units and equipment apparatus. SECTION 2. That this Ordinance shall be in effect ten (10) days from and after its passage, and it shall be published in a newspaper of general circulation in the area as required by the Charter of the City of San Marcos, Texas.
