<br />25 <br /> <br />STATE OF TF~XAS <br /> <br />SCHOOL CROSSING GUARDS AGREEMENT <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAYS <br /> <br />vJHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />City <br /> <br />of San Marcos and the San Marcos Consolidated <br /> <br />Independent School District have worked together for nearly two decades <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />provide school crossing guards at <br /> <br />selected <br /> <br />intersections on <br /> <br />days <br /> <br />when schools are in session; and, <br /> <br />vJHEREAS, <br /> <br />both the City and the school district believe that it is <br /> <br />in the interest of both entities to continue to jointly support such <br /> <br />a <br /> <br />project; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />State's <br /> <br />Interlocal Cooperation Act, Art. 4413(32c) <br /> <br />V.A.C.S. specifically authorizes <br /> <br />contracts <br /> <br />between <br /> <br />city s <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />other <br /> <br />governmental <br /> <br />units <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />furnishing of governmental functions and <br /> <br />services of mutual concern to the contracting parties; now, <br /> <br />therefore, <br /> <br />IT IS AGREED BETWEEN THE PARTIES AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />PART <br /> <br />1. Those <br /> <br />matters <br /> <br />recited <br /> <br />above <br /> <br />in the preamble of <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />Ag reemen t <br /> <br />are <br /> <br />adopted <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />incorporated <br /> <br />herein in <br /> <br />their <br /> <br />entirety. <br /> <br />PART <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />This Agreement between the City of San Marcos (City) and <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />San <br /> <br />~1arcos <br /> <br />Consolidated <br /> <br />Independent <br /> <br />School <br /> <br />District <br /> <br />(School <br /> <br />District) is effective September 1,1987 and continues through June <br /> <br />2 , <br /> <br />1988. <br /> <br />PART <br /> <br />3. <br /> <br />The City agrees to pay the School District $6000 <br /> <br />within <br /> <br />thirty <br /> <br />( 30 ) <br /> <br />days <br /> <br />of <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />effective <br /> <br />da te of <br /> <br />this <br /> <br />agreement <br /> <br />to <br /> <br />defray <br /> <br />approximately <br /> <br />one-half <br /> <br />(1/2) <br /> <br />of the costs of school crossing <br /> <br />guards at locations to be selected by the parties hereto. <br /> <br />PART 4. <br /> <br />The School District agrees to: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Hire and supervise eight (8) school crossing guards at a base <br />salary of $4.08/hr. for 2 hours per day for 175 school days <br />each. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Pay the crossing guards in accord with regular School District <br />payroll policies and procedures. <br /> <br />PART 5. <br />September <br /> <br />This Agreement is <br />, 1987. <br /> <br />entered <br /> <br />into on <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />15th <br /> <br />day <br /> <br />of <br /> <br /> <br />SAN MARCOS CONSO LIDATED <br />INDEPENDENT 8CH > DISTR.I7J:.~~ /'. .' <br /> <br />¡¿ ~¡¿~o / <br /> <br /> <br />SAN MARCOS <br /> <br />.
