City Council Meeting Minutes June 16,2026 <br /> For: 4- Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Garza, Council Member Rodriguez <br /> and Council Member Gonzalez <br /> Against: 3- Mayor Hughson, Council Member Mendoza and Council Member Paselk <br /> MOTION TO AMEND: A motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by <br /> Council Member Mendoza, to amend Chapter 2: Notice Requirements, Section <br /> 2.3.2.1. General Notice Requirements (E) to insert "responsible official" and <br /> remove "applicant" which currently reads "Whenever this Development Code <br /> requires that notice of a public hearing to be posted on land,the applicant <br /> shall cause notification signs stating the purpose and dates of the hearing to be <br /> placed on the subject property at least 11 days before the first public hearing <br /> unless a longer time period is identified in this development code. <br /> The new section will read: <br /> "Whenever this Development Code requires that notice of a public hearing to <br /> be posted on land, the responsible official shall cause notification signs stating <br /> the purpose and dates of the hearing to be placed on the subject property at <br /> least 11 days before the first public hearing unless a longer time period is <br /> identified in this development code. " <br /> The motion to amend carried by the following vote: <br /> For: 6- Mayor Pro Tern Scott, Deputy Mayor Pro Tern Garza, Council Member Rodriguez, <br /> Mayor Hughson, Council Member Gonzalez and Council Member Mendoza <br /> Against: 0 <br /> Absent: 1 - Council Member Paselk <br /> MOTION TO AMEND: A motion was made by Mayor Hughson, seconded by <br /> Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Garza,to amend Chapter 2: Notice Requirements, <br /> Section 2.3.2.1. General Notice Requirements (F) to insert "responsible <br /> official" and remove "applicant" which currently reads "Comprehensive plan <br /> map amendments or zoning map amendments initiated by a property owner, <br /> and a conditional use permit allowing the on premise consumption of alcohol <br /> or purpose built student housing require that the applicant send post notice at <br /> least 17 days prior to the bearing date." <br /> The new section will read: <br /> "Comprehensive plan map amendments or zoning map amendments initiated <br /> by a property owner, and a conditional use permit allowing the on premise <br /> consumption of alcohol or purpose built student housing require that the <br /> City of San Marcos Page 15 <br />
