<br />54 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1987- 123R <br /> <br />A RE,SOliJTICN OF THE CITY COUNCI L OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />l>1ARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION BY <br />THE CI'IY t-1ANAGER OF SAID CI'TY AND SUBMISSION OF AN <br />APPliCATION FOR ASSISTANCE FRC1v1 THE STATE DEPAR'fl\'1ENT <br />OF HIGrn-JAYS AND PUBliC TRANSroRrATION FOR A SELECTIVE <br />TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT PROJECT (STEP), DRIVER BEHAVIOR- <br />SELECTIVE ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM, AUTHORIZING THE <br />EXPENDITURE OF $15,643.10, AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF <br />ANY aTHER INSTRUMENTS OR DOCUMENTS NECESSARY 'TO THE <br />H1PLEMENTATION OF SAID PROGRAM, AND DEClARING AL"J <br />EFFECTI VE DATE. <br /> <br />htJEREAS, the Ci ty of San Marcos, Texas, wishes to apply for <br />assistance from the State Department of Highways and Public <br />Transportation for the implementation of a Selective Traffic <br />Enforcement Project (STEP), Driver Behavior-Selective Enforcement <br />Prcgram, to apply additional enforcement effort at selected locations, <br />times of day and days of the week against hazardous traffic <br />violations where high accident locations have been specifically <br />identified; and <br /> <br />~~EREAS, the City is willing to participate in the funding <br />said prcgram in the total amount of $15,643.10; now, therefore, <br /> <br />for <br /> <br />BE IT REffiLVED BY THE CI'IY <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />COUNCI L OF THE <br /> <br />CITY OF <br /> <br />SAN MARCOS, <br /> <br />PART 1. That the execution by the City Manager and submission <br />of an application to the State Department of Highways and Public <br />Transportation for assistance for a Selective Traffic Enforcement <br />Project (STEP), Driver Behavior-Selective Enforcement Prcgram, a <br />copy of said application being attached hereto and incorporated <br />herein for all purposes, is hereby authorized and approved. <br /> <br />PART 2. That the expenditure of $15,643.10 is hereby authorized <br />if said application is approved by the said State Department of <br />Highways and Public Transportation <br /> <br />PART 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to execute any <br />other documents or instruments necessary to fully implement this <br />prcgram. <br /> <br />PART 4.
