61 RESOLUTION 1987- 127R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING SAID CITY'S ONE-YEAR PARTICIPATION IN PURCHASING PROGRAMS OF THE STATE PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES COMMISSION FOR THE ACQUISITION OF AUTOMOBILES AND LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS, TIRES AND TUBES, REQUESTING THE STATE PURCHASING AND GENERAL SERVICES COMMISSION TO INCLUDE SAID CITY'S STATED NEED FOR CONTRACT CLASS NO. 070, AUTOMOBILES AND LIGHT DUTY TRUCKS AND CONTRACT CLASS NO. 863, TIRES AND TUBES, ON THE COMMISSION'S ANNUAL CONTRACTS FOR THOSE ITEMS, AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO SIGN AND DELIVER ALL NECESSARY REQUESTS AND OTHER DOCUMENTS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH, DIRECTING THAT ALL DECISIONS OF THE CITY MANAGER RELATING TO SAID PURCHASING PROGRAMS SHALL BE AS DIRECTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, PROVIDING THAT SAID CITY WILL PURCHASE SUCH ITEMS FROM THE CONTRACTS MADE PURSUANT TO THIS RESOLUTION AND ARTICLE 664-7, V.T.C.S., EXCEPT IN EMERGENCIES, AND THAT SAID CITY WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR PAYMENT DIRECTLY TO THE VENDOR UNDER EACH SUCH CONTRACT AND WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE VENDOR'S COMPLIANCE WITH ALL CONDITIONS OF DELIVERY AND QUALITY OF PURCHASED ITEMS, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of San Marcos, Texas, pursuant to the authority granted by Article 664-7, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes (V.T.C.S.) as amended, desires to participate in certain below-described purchasing programs of the State purchaisng and General Services Commission; and WHEREAS, the City Council of said City is of the opinion that participation in these programs will be highly beneficial to the taxpayers of this City through the anticipaT.ed savings to be realized; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. That the City of San Marcos, Texas, does hereby request the State Purchasing and General Services Commission include said City's stated need for Contract Class No. 070, Automobiles and Light Duty Trucks, and Contract Class No. 863, Tires and Tubes, on the Cormnission' s annual contract for those items, whereby the CiT.y may be allowed to purchase those items from the annual contracT. in question. PART 2. That purchasing programs Services Commission hereby authorized. said Ci T.Y' s participation in such of the State Purchasing and General for the acquisition of such items is PART 3. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to sign and deliver all necessary requests and other documents in connection therewith for and on behalf of said City. PART 4. That all decisions of said City Manager relating to said purchasing programs will be directed by the City Council.
