Where sidewalks are <br />installed, the following minimum requirements shall be <br />met: <br /> <br />5-703.01 <br /> <br />Sidewalk Permits required. Unless sidewalk <br />construction plans are approved as part of <br />subdivision construction plans or building <br />permit plans, a sidewalk permit shall be <br />issued by the City Engineer for all sidewalk <br />construction within the City of San Marcos, <br />installed within city right-of-way, <br />easements, or property. <br /> <br />5-703.02 <br /> <br />Widths and location. Where sidewalks are <br />installed, the following minimum widths and <br />locations shall be required: <br /> <br />5-703.021 Along local streets. Sidewalks <br />shall be a minimum of three feet wide. The <br />sidewalk shall be located anywhere between <br />the curb (if curb and gutter are used) <br />contiguous to the back of the curb, pavement <br />and in the right-of-way. If curb and gutter <br />are not used, the sidewalk shall be in the <br />right-of-way, no closer than three feet to <br />the pavement. <br /> <br />5-703.022 Along collector streets. <br />Sidewalks shall be a minimum of three feet <br />wide. The sidewalk shall be located anywhere <br />between a minimum of two feet from the back <br />of the curb if curb and gutter are used and <br />the lot line side of the right-of-way. If no <br />curb and gutter are used, the sidewalk shall <br />be no closer than four feet to the pavement <br />and in the right-of-way. <br /> <br />-13- <br />
