<br />16 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 1987-146R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS, TEXAS, AUTHORIZING FREE PARKING IN METERED <br />PARKING STALLS IN THE CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT <br />FROM MONDAY, DECEMBER 14, 1987 THROUGH SUNDAY, <br />JANUARY 3,1988, AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council has been requested by the Downtown <br />Association to authorize free parking meter access in the Central <br />Business District during the coming holiday season; and, <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City Council desires to encourage the citizens of San <br />Marcos to patronize local businesses by removing metered parking during <br />the Christmas and New Year's shopping season; now, therefore, <br /> <br />BE <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />IT <br /> <br />RESOLVED <br /> <br />BY <br /> <br />THE <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> <br />PART 1. That the enforcement of metered parking in the Central <br />Business District of San Marcos, Texas, be suspended beginning on <br />Monday, December 14, 1987 and ending on Sunday, January 3,1988. <br /> <br />PART 2.
