<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN <br />MARCOS AMENDING CHAPTER 3 OF THE SAN MARCOS CODE OF <br />ORDINANCES BY ADDING A PROVISION EXEMPTING POLICE <br />DOGS FROM SECTION 3-49, IMPOUNDMENT OF DOGS WHICH HAVE <br />BITTEN PERSONS; AND BY ADDING A PROVISION <br />PROHIBITING PERSONS FROM AGITATING POLICE DOGS; AND <br />ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />27 <br /> <br />ORDINANCE 1987-159 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> <br />SAN <br /> <br />MARCOS, <br /> <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />SECTION 1. That Chapter 3 of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances is <br />amended by the addition of Section 3-53 as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 3-53. <br /> <br />Exemption of Police Dogs. <br /> <br />Dogs working for the San Marcos Police Department are exempt <br />from the provisions of Sec. 3-49 of this ordinance. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. That Chapter 3 of the San Marcos Code of Ordinances is <br />amended by the addition of Section 3-54 as follows: <br /> <br />Sec. 3-54. <br /> <br />Agitation of Police Dogs Prohibited. <br /> <br />It is unlawful for any person to harass, tease or otherwise <br />agitate any dog working for the San Marcos Police Department. <br /> <br />SECTION 3.
