115. <br />Regular Meeting December 8, 2003 Page 8 <br /> <br />have it removed from the Charter. Mr. Thomaides stated he would like to <br />see the Ethics Review Commission make a decision. Mr. Diaz supports <br />asking the Ethics Review Commission to make a decision. He stated he also <br />feels this should be done in an expedient manner. Mr. Taylor stated he <br />had received an advisory opinion from the Commission. He stated he is in <br /> <br />favor of this issue being sent back to the Ethics Review Commission and <br />then to the District Attorney, if necessary. The Council agreed by <br />consensus to have the Ethics Review Commission review this issue and make <br />a decision, then send it to the District Attorney, if necessary. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced setting dates for Council Visioning <br />Workshop (propOsed dates: January 29 and January 30, 2004). Mr. <br />Mihalkanin stated he would rather hold the Workshops on Friday, January 30 <br />and Saturday, January 31, 2004. Mr. Taylor agreed with Mr. Mihalkanin, <br />but suggested the Workshop begin in the afternoon on Friday, January 30, <br />2004. Mr. O'Leary inquired whether the Council would like to have a <br />facilitator. The Council agreed to have the same facilitator as last year. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced setting dates for Policy Statement Workshop <br />(proposed dates: February 27 and February 28, 2004). The CoUncil agreed <br />to hold the Policy Statement Workshop on the afternoon of Friday, February <br />27 and all day Saturday, February 28, 2004. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced the City Council's Report.l) Ms. Narvaiz <br />stated she attended the Los Ninos Luncheon given by the San Marcos <br />Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. 2) Ms. Narvaiz stated she attended a <br />meeting with Texas State University regarding the business growth in this <br />area. 3) Ms. Narvaiz stated she attended Sights & Sounds Gala. She <br />thanked Donna Hill for her hard work regarding the Gala. 4) Ms. Narvaiz <br />stated she also'attended Sights & Sounds. She thanked the Main Street <br />Advisory Board for their hard work. 5) Mr. Thomaides stated he also <br />attended the Sights & Sounds. He also wanted to thank the Main Street <br />Advisory Board. 6) Mr. Mihalkanin wished everyone a safe Holiday. 7) <br />Mayor Habingreither stated he attended a meeting regarding fleet systems, <br />refueling and reduction of NOX in the Ozone. 8) Mayor Habingreither <br />stated he played Santa Claus at the City Employee Children's Christmas <br />Party. He stated he had a good time. 9) Mr. Montoya stated he had also <br />attended Sights & Sounds this year. He also stated every year it seems to <br />getting better. 10) Mr. Montoya stated he has material for Council <br />Members to look at regarding incentives, which Bexar County offers <br />regarding their Economic Development. 11) Mr. Taylor stated he also wanted <br />to thank everyone who made this year's Sights & Sounds a success. 12) Mr. <br />Diaz thanked the Sights & Sounds committee. He also wished everyone Happy <br />Holidays. <br /> <br />Mayor Habingreither introduced an Executive Session pursuant to the <br />Government Code, Section 551.087, to discuss commercial or financial <br />information that the governmental body has received from a business <br />prospect that the governmental body seeks to have locate, stay or expand <br />in or near the territory of the governmental body and with which the <br /> <br /> <br />
