Lead <br />Year 2 Task Name <br />Agency <br />Package and promote Downtown-specific incentive measures such as tax increment <br />CITIES, <br />financing, business improvement districts, local option sales taxes, historic rehabilitation tax <br />GSMED <br />credits, façade-improvement programs, and bond funds. <br />Coordinate biannual meetings with each municipalitys Downtown o <br />GSMED <br />development representatives. <br />Action 2: Improve and effectively market the visitor experience to the area’s historic Downtowns. <br />Create a Central Texas awareness campaign to renew pride in Greater San Marcos <br />GSMED <br />and renew Texans sense of nostalgia about the area. <br />In partnership with the Heritage Association of San Marcos, create a “Historic Heritage <br />Directory” that maps historic buildings, places, people, and facts about the Greater San GSMED <br />Marcos area. <br />Action 3: Provide improved amenities for residents of Downtown areas. <br />As a component of the Downtown Master Plan, incentivize redevelopment of upper-level <br />CSM <br />stories of Downtown buildings for residential use. <br />Identify creative ways to expand the presence of public institutions and TXST facilities as <br />GSMED <br />anchors of activity and business in Downtown. <br />Invite TXST to be a participant in all Downtown planning and red <br />CSM <br />activities.
