RESOLUTION 2008 -98 R A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS APPROVING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR AN ENVIRONMENTAL ASSESSMENT GRANT; APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL MATCHING FUNDS; NAMING TXDOT AS THE CITY'S AGENT FOR THE PURPOSES OF APPLYING FOR, RECEIVING AND DISBURSING ALL FUNDS FOR THIS PROJECT AND FOR THE ADMINISTRATION OF CONTRACTS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THIS PROJECT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS APPLICATION AND ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH TXDOT AND OTHER PARTIES AS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT AT THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. RECITALS: 1. The City of San Marcos (the "City") wishes to complete an HYl Environmental Assessment at the San Marcos Municipal Airport related to the Air Traffic Control Project (the "Project). 2. The City intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department of Transportation ("TxDOT") for this Project. 3. The total cost for this Project is estimated to be $25,000.00 and the city understands that it will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated to be $2,500.00. RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, TEXAS: PART 1. The submission of a grant application to TxDOT for an Environmental Assessment Grant related to improvements at the San Marcos Municipal Airport is approved. PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately 10% ($2,500.00) of the total Proj ect costs included in the current airport budget is approved. PART 3. The City Manager, Rick Menchaca, is authorized to execute on behalf of the City, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of the City Council all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by TxDOT, and such other parties 1
