<br />202. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION 2004 - 21 R <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br />TEXAS AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A GRANT APPLICATION <br />TO THE TEXAS DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION ("TXDOT") FOR <br />FY 2004/2005 CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM ("CIP") GRANT <br />FUNDING; APPROVING THE CITY'S EXPENDITURE OF LOCAL <br />MATCHING FUNDS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACT <br />ON THE CITY'S BEHALF WITH REGARD TO THE SUBMISSION OF THIS <br />APPLICATION AND ALL CONTRACTS AND AGREEMENTS WITH TXDOT <br />AND OTHER PARTIES AS NECESSARY FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF <br />THE IMPROVEMENTS TO THE SAN MARCOS MUNICIPAL AIRPORT; <br />AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />RECITALS: <br /> <br />1. The City of San Marcos (the "City") intends to make certain improvements <br />to the San Marcos Municipal Airport, the general description of which is the concrete <br />rehabilitation of the Airport's World War II era aircraft parking ramp. <br /> <br />2. The City is intends to request financial assistance from the Texas Department <br />of Transportation ("TxDOT") for these improvements. <br /> <br />3. The total project costs are estimated to be $1,050,000.00, and the City <br />understands that it will be responsible for 10% of the total project costs currently estimated <br />to be $105,000.00. <br /> <br />RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN MARCOS, <br /> <br />TEXAS: <br /> <br />PART 1. The City hereby requests funding for FY2004/2005 CI P Grant Funding <br />from TXDOT for improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />PART 2. The City's expenditure of approximately 10% of the total project costs <br />for FY 2004 is approved, and the City's expenditure of 10% of the remaining project costs <br />for FY 2005 is approved subject to the City Council's approval of the appropriation of those <br />matching dollars in the City's 2004/2005 FY budget. <br /> <br />PART 3. The City Manager, Dan O'Leary, is authorized to execute on behalf <br />of the City, at the appropriate time, and with the appropriate authorizations of the City <br />Council all contracts and agreements with the State of Texas, represented by TxDOT, and <br />such other parties as shall be necessary and appropriate for the implementation of the <br />improvements to the San Marcos Municipal Airport. <br /> <br />PART 4. The City Council names the Texas Department of Transportation as <br />its agent for the purposes of applying for, receiving and disbursing all funds for these <br />
